The 4th National Human Resource Management Conference will be jointly organized by The Department of Human Resource Management, College of Business, Universiti Utara Malaysia, Negeri Sembilan State Government and Malaysian Institute of Human Resource Management. This conference is seen significant as changes in the world’s social, economic and political scenarios pose constant challenges to the way businesses and government agencies should operate. With the dynamic movement of globalization, the rapid development and diffusion of new technologies, including information and communication technologies, changes in the make-up of the workforce, and increasing complexity of legal provisions are some of the challenges businesses and government bodies have to deal with. These developments demand that organisations review and refine their present practices of human resources in order to make sure that the contribution of their workforce is still relevant to the organisations success and competitiveness. Hence, it is within this context that this conference is timely.
